National Assembly Hopeful, Amb. Friday Ojima Wins Best Innovator Award

The APC front line aspirant into the House of Representatives for Idah Federal Constituency, Engr Micheal Friday Ojima has been conferred with an Award of Excellence as the Best Innovator of the year and an Award of Excellence
The Award of Excellence was conferred on him by the Youth Friendly Resource Centre at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, during her 2018 International Youth Leadership Conference.
Presenting the award,  the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Benjamin Ozumba described the awardee as a foresighted individual with capacity to impact society positively if given the opportunity.
He said the present climate in Nigeria required brilliant minds that stay the course of societal progress, stressing the need for other young people in the country to emulate his enterprise and brillianvery.
He then used the occasion to announce the renaming of one of the Students Centres in the institution after Amb Friday, saying having his name on their wall would serve as a motivation to up-and-coming young ones that would change the society positively.
“Ambassador Friday is a man who has inspires many, including me, having followed his progress as a man that is ready to affect the society in a positive and innovative way.”
Amb Friday had, in a paper he presented at the occasion, called for the need to prepare the nation’s youth demographic for sustainable development in all facets of human endeavor.
His paper which was titled; “Developing Youth Leadership Skills for Sustainable Development” noted that the country needs youths that can start thinking and developing policies and projects that would improve the economy, safeguard the environment and impact the society positively.
He told the youths that to become a leader, one has to have vision, confidence, effectively communicate, be ready to be mentored and learn to manage conflicts effectively.
The award recipient added that to be a good leader, an individual also needs to be firm, decisive and delegate tasks while explaining responsibilities to subordinates.
While expressing gratitude for the award,  he said it would encourage him to do more for society, saying he gets satisfaction mostly from his ability to give.
