The Special Adviser on Finance, Budget and Economic Planning to Kogi State Governor, Mukadam Asiwaju Idris Asiru has expressed sadness over shocking death of a former Commissioner of Finance in the state, Chief Joseph Noah Molemodile.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Ayowande Ayopemi, Asiwaju described Molemodile as one of the finest financial experts Okun land produced.

Asiwaju stated the sad loss of Molemodile, a progressive politician, elder statesman and a worthy aboriginal of Isanlu land, is extremely painful and a huge loss to humanity.

He said, premised on personal reminiscence on Molemodile’s life and times, an invaluable asset of great repute has fizzled out of the earthly ball into the immortal.

“The late seasoned accountant was an egg-head who left an indelible mark while in office. Speaking as one of his successors, the late J.N. Molemodile engendered sound financial frameworks, built foundation for remarkable innovations and enacted fiscal reforms that aligns with global standard on accountability and transparency in public service. No wonder, the administration he served meritoriously under was able to place the state on the positive trajectory of socio-economic and political growth.

“My several engagement with him resonate the fact that public service must come with accountability and leadership must be solely about service to the people. He strongly frowns at laxity, dishonesty and lacklustre in public office because he believes in merit, capacity and Integrity as a panacea to genuine leadership that will deliver good governance as desired. He was a community leader, peacemaker, disciplinarian and a father to all,” he said.

Asiwaju noted that Molemodile’s wealth of experience and professionalism as a financial guru will be greatly missed at a time when the new direction government is poised to do more in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi state through economic renaissance that would catalyse financial buoyancy.

“His belief and support for the Governor Yahaya Bello-led new direction administration is staunch and immeasurable as massively demonstrated before, during and even after the last gubernatorial election in the state,” Asiwaju posited.
