May Day: LG Chairman Salutes Ijumu Workers, Promises Improved Welfare

Caretaker Chairman Ijumu local government area of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna has paid glowing tribute to workers in the LGA as they join their counterparts around the world to mark this year’s Worker’s Day.

Alh. Haruna also urged Nigerian workers, both in the public and private sectors, particularly those in the local government to remain productive and committed in discharging their responsibilities to move Ijumu LGA to enviable heights.

The Caretaker Chairman, in a statement through his Special Assistant on New Media, Azeez Abdullateef, commended all the workers in the local government for their patience, strength, passion and commitment to the development of the local government, urging them not to relent in their positive contributions.

He further commended them for their steadfastness and determination to put in their best despite the harsh economic realities of the day, assuring them that their sacrifice will not be in vain.

Alhaji Haruna assured workers in Kogi State that His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will continue to improve their welfare and working conditions.

He reiterated that the administration of Governor Usman Ododo will continue to keep faith with the workers by paying their salaries and emoluments as at when due and building their capacity through training and retraining.

“As we join the rest of the world today, to celebrate International workers Day, I implore all workers, especially those in Ijumu LGA to remain productive and committed to duty. We must all join hands together to take Ijumu LGA and Kogi State to greater heights.

“As a government, we will continue to make the welfare of workers our priority and ensure that we play our role in creating a good working environment for workers in the local government.

“I congratulate all our workers on the 2024 International Workers Day,” he said.
