The 2017 edition of Makama Unity Cup Challenge has lived up to expectations with the matches played thus far.
In the first round of matches played so far, All Stars FC (RCM) of Ajaka played an explosive 1:1 draw against Top Stars of Odolu while Sabrin FC of Anyigba enjoyed an easy 4:0 win over UCDA of Ugwolawo.
In other results, Golden Boys of Ogbogbo created a huge upset by defeating Makama FC of Odolu in an exciting encounter by two unreplied goals. And B2K Young Boys of Ajaka lost narrowly to Okenya Dynamic FC in what was a highly entertaining match.
Ejule United and Dekina United forced themselves to a goalless draw despite glimpses of brilliance by both teams and a couple of half chances.
Just yesterday, Oguma FC lost narrowly to Golden Boys of Ajaka after a brilliant goal by Jibrin Ibrahim in the first half. From the Odolu match centre, Edy Green FC similarly ran away with a 1-0 win over Oji-Aji FC through a goal from the prolific Danjuma
The competition has continued to draw mammoth crowd of spectators from both the match centres at ACSS Ajaka and ODSS Odolu.
The tournament is the biggest ever to be hosted in the area and has been hailed by many stakeholders in the sports industry. The tournament is sponsored by member representing Igalamela Odolu state constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Elder Friday Sanni Makama.
