Majority Leader of Kogi Assembly Empowers Constituents

Concerned by the needs of his people, the member representing Kabba-Bunu constituency and majority leader in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon (Prince) Matthew Kolawole has empowered 312 of his constituents.
The majority leader told our reporter that the gesture was informed by his desire to impact the lives of his people positively and make efforts towards pulling them out of poverty and lack of capacity for self reliance.
He said his dream as a politician is to ensure he improves the lives of his people, by providing them with required tools to enhance their quality of life and those of their loved ones.
Though a legislator whose primary duty is lawmaking, he said, “for the sake of my people, I am ready to wok together with the executive arm of government and other necessary stakeholders, to see to it that my people are impacted positively.
“Democracy, to me, I’d about the ordinary people out there. It is about making concerted efforts to see that a better life is provided for the people who have given us their mandate to represent them at the various levels of governance.”
One of the traditional rulers in the area, Chief Gbenga Olutobaje described the empowerment programme of Hon Kolawole as unprecedented in the annals of politics in Kabba -Bunu state constituency.
He said Prince Kolawole is among the best legislators that have represented the area and called the people to support him so that he can succeed both as a legislator and as one of the sons of Okunland.
Other traditional rulers and elders that spoke, lauded the majority leader for the manner he has continued to give good representation to the people and pleaded that he keeps his good works going as they are behind him.
On their part, the beneficiaries could not hide their joy as they took turn to eulogize the person of the legislator and prayed God to reward him.
Oluwatosin John, a National Diploma holder from Kogi State Polytechnic could not hide his joy when his Computer set was handed to him. He said it would help him put to use the training he had received on computer operation, adding that it would help him offset some of his bills and take care of his younger ones.
Others also prayed God to continue to bless the majority leader and replenish him in his efforts to put smiles on the faces of the needy in his constituency.
The tools and machines made available by the legislator include grinding machines, computer sets, power generating sets, refrigerators, female hair dressing equipment and others.
