Kogi: Mass Defection Hits APC in Ofu

The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ofu local government area of Kogi  state suffered a major set back as over a hundred youths defected to the opposition  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on behalf of defectors in Agojoeju, Iboko /Efakwu Ward yesterday, the leader of the group, Marvis J attributed their decision to join PDP to failed promises of the APC led government at all levels. He also said that the level of  humility and leadership disposition of Hon Dr Friday Alih is second to none.
“We are set to work in line of the PDP directives in re-positioning the party towards winning the subsequent elections”, he said.
At the ceremony held at the party office in Agojoeju Iboko/Efakwu ward, the local government Chairman of the PDP, Hon Wajah Idris Attabo described the defection as the end of APC in the ward and local government in general.
Wajah promised to give all members equal right and level playing field to achieve their desires.
While receiving the defectors, the member representing Ofu constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Dr. Friday Alih, who was visibly overwhelmed by the defection, thanked them for their bold steps and urged them to keep faith with the party as measures are been put in place to resolve the national crisis rocking the party within the shortest time in the overall interest of Nigerians.
