Lokoja/Kogi By-election: Kassim Mabo Picks ADC Ticket

Hon. Mohammed Mabo Kassim has emerged the flag bearer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the August 11, Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency bye election.

Hon. Mabo defeated Zaccheaus Jonathan in a keenly contested election.

Declaring Alhaji Mabo winner of the ADC primaries for the bye election, Chief Anayo Arinze, National Publicity Secretary and Chairman Kogi Election Committee, said following the result collated from all the Wards in Lokoja and Kogi Federal constituency, Alh Mabo will fly the ADC flag in forthcoming bye election.

The Electoral Committee Chairman described the primaries as having met the parties requirements, called on the people of Lokoja and Kogi LGAs to vote for the ADC in the August, 11, 2018 bye election.

Chief Arinze described ADC as the party to beat in the forthcoming bye election for Lokoja-Kogi federal constituency, pointing out that ADC is the party that has the interest of the people and development as a priority.

Also speaking, Dan Isah, Kogi State Chairman of the ADC commended the peaceful conduct of delegates for the party’s primaries.

The State Chairman described the party’s candidate as a grassroots politician with the interest of the people at heart.

He said his emergence was not a surprise as he has what it takes to win the bye election.

In his post election speech, Hon. Mohammed Mabo Kassim described his emergence as the ADC flag bearer as the will of God and the people. He promised not to abuse the confidence reposed on him.

He expressed optimism that he will win the August 11, 2018 bye election, assured that if elected, it will be business unusual, as his concern would be to provide laws that would improve the health and living standard of people living in his constituency.

Hon. Mabo specifically called on the electorates to vote their conscience, not to sale their votes, pointing out that he intends to using the opportunity if given to him to serve as a lawmaker, build a future for the unborn children and lasting legacies that would be beneficial for people of the constituency.
