Lawal Elected Senate President National Association of University Students

A new Senate President, National Association of University Students has emerged. He is Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal, a 400 level student of Sociology from the Nasarawa State University.

Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal is the fifth National Senate President of the National Association of University Students.

Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal, fondly referred to as Aluta Abacha, defeated his closest rival Rt Hon. Mujaheed Shuaibu, aka Genero, from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Announcing the election result, Comr. Adekunle Jonathan, Chairman, Convention Planning Committee, said Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal, pulled 90 votes to defeat his opponent who was not nominated.

He thanked the delegates to the convention for their peaceful conduct, urged the new Senate President to serve as a rallying point for his other colleagues.

In a post election speech, Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him, promising to justify the confidence.

He promised to offer quality and purposeful leadership, said the election was a no Victor no vanquished election, extended an olive branch to his opponent.
