Dear people of Kogi West, you will recall that during the course of my campaign for the last Kogi West Senatorial election, I did express my utmost displeasure and angst against the corporate misdemeanor and official racketeering of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) over the deliberate and wicked short supply of electricity to the poor people of the seven LGAs to the best of my knowledge despite huge tariff the people are made to pay ROUTINELY.

Another wicked activity of AEDC is the arbitrary billing system that they conveniently call “CRAZY BILLING”

I took up this challenge after noticing the obvious decline in virtually all business activities of the people that are connected to electricity usage, and in the instances where the business owners can afford alternative power supply, costs of running businesses have unfavorably skyrocketed thereby taking a huge toll on the general economic conditions of the people.

The unfortunate suffering the people have faced and still facing daily is what we have concluded that we must fight against. I am aware that several petition, letters, protests and innuendos have been made to make AEDC change, unfortunately they have not yielded any positive result, hence I have resolved to hit the court of law to fight for the helpless, voiceless and impoverished people.

We shall demand AEDC to calculate jointly with external auditors the cost of electricity my people have consumed and the hours they have enjoyed electricity since the AEDC took over in line with the terms of agreement and provisions with the Electricity Regulatory Commission, with a view to pay the people back all they have been ripped off by AEDC.

We shall also demand immediate allocation of prepaid meter to every household and business owners in the seven LGAs of Kogi West Senatorial district as provided for in the terms.

I therefore wish to invite at least five (5) electricity consumers in each of the seven LGAs who feels cheated to come up with their last bill and payment receipts for the purpose of the litigation.

Interested persons should make this available to Info@voiceofdmasses.com or call 07051111514. This is expected to be done on or before Wednesday 8th May, 2019.

I have resolved and promised on my honor to fight, defend and challenge any injustice done against my people, so help me God.
