One of the governorship aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Hajia Hadiza Ibrahim, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) over alleged threat to her life.

Hajia Ibrahim disclosed this while addressing journalists in Ibadan at the weekend. She disclosed that despite the fact that all the APC aspirants were due to appear before a screening committee in Kogi State, today, she decided to inform the IGP of her predicament.

In her ‘save my soul’ message sent to the IGP,  the gubernatorial aspirant revealed that she was advised to return to Abuja by an unknown person at Lokoja, last Friday, after picking Expression of Interest (EOI) form.

She further claimed to have received series of threat text messages and calls from someone, who she claimed to be close to the top echelon of the APC.

While expressing optimism that the security agencies would live up to their duties and not only track and arrest her tormentors but provide security, she maintained that she would not bow to any threat, adding that there was no going back.

Narrating her political experience, the business mogul revealed that her 33-year-old son, Kamaldeen Yahyah, who was sympathetic to the political plight of President Muhammadu Buhari was murdered by yet-to-be identified assailants in Ibadan on August 15, 2014 at his Bodija residence, in Ibadan.

She said, “I acknowledged that it is a men’s turf but I know it’s a turf that has been defined by the doggedness, determination and labour of women. Kogi must be free from the current underdevelopment. We must emancipate our people from poverty and diseases and we must consciously empower the people, especially our women and girls.

“Politics should not be done with tears. This recent threat to my life by some political cabals in Kogi is designed to make women run away from politics and I will not chicken out. There is no going back because I have the support of my people.”
