Kogi West 2019: Akanle Assures Constituents of Effective Representation

A former Security officer aspiring to represent the people of Kogi West senatorial district at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Dr. Williams Toyin Akanle has assured constituents of effective representation if given the mandate to represent them in 2019.

Akanle gave the assurance while reacting to his endorsement to aspire for the Senate seat by the Kogi/Lokoja Stakeholder’s Forum.

The former Security chief stated that he is glad to have been found worthy of endorsement by the Forum and people of Lokoja and Kogi local government areas.

Akanle, who expressed gratitude for his endorsement, stated that; “I am humbled by the good will showed me by my political, traditional and religious leaders for finding me worthy to go and represent them.

“If not for their wish, who am I? To me, the endorsement is a huge blessing that will provide me with an opportunity to gladly serve my people, the people of the senatorial district and the humanity at large.”

The Senatorial aspirant who is aspiring under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) commended the stakeholder’s forum for the endorsement to go and represent Kogi West at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

“Those of you in the constituency who have taken pains and benevolence to endorse me, let me assure you that I will not disappoint you,” he said.

He maintained that he will do all that is within his reach to ensure that what is meant for the constituency is attracted home to give succour to the people.

“I will not disappoint you. I can’t really remember when last I disappointed somebody in the course of doing my private business. Why would I disappoint people when I am made a public servant to assume higher responsibility of going to the senate to represent my people? It is not in my character,” Akanle stressed.

The Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu and the secretary, Mrs Zainab Abdullahi stated that the Forum decided to take a bold step by pitching their tent with Dr. Williams Toyin Akanle because he has touched and impacted so much on the lives of the less privileged and assisted many more to actualize their dreams in his private capacity.

The chairman maintained that he and his team promised to embark on door to door campaign to ensure that all hands are put on deck to ensure that Akanle gets to the Senate to represent the people of the constituency.

The endorsement which took place in Lokoja had women, youths and executive members of the Forum in attendance.
