Uk’omuIgala, the umbrella organization for all socio-cultural groups in Kogi East has denied involvement in the invasion and vandalism of property at the Kogi State House of Assembly complex.

In a statement signed by the National Leader of the group, Major-General Patrick Akpa (rtd), the organization described the attack as an “affront on democracy” and an “intimidation of a constitutional arm of government” in Kogi State.

The body also condemned the assault on Hon Friday Sani Makama of Igala Mela Odolu State Constituency and has been hospitalized.

Major General Akpa said that it is the voices of the ordinary indigenes who voted them to make law and serve as a check on the executive arm of government.

Although the house of assembly has called for a probe of the attack, the organisation has urged the Presidency and the National Assembly to wade into the situation.
