…Says Government is about the people.

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam commended the member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency and the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Sheikh Bello Hassan Abdullahi Balogun for reaching out to his Constituents in the spirit of bringing governance closer to the people.
He made the commendation at Adogo, the headquarters of Ajaokuta LGA on Thursday, 15th June, 2017 when he served as the Special guest of honour at the Constituency outreach Programme.
While informing the people of the three cardinal tasks of the Members in the Assembly as provision of quality representation, making laws for the good governance of the State and performing over sight functions, the Speaker says government is about the people, hence, the need to reach out to them and alleviate their pains inspite of the paucity of funds, which is what their member, Hon.Bello, is doing from the constituency funds he accessed.
He said even though the Government of Kogi State has very laudable programmes targeted at making life better for the people, the recession has been a hindrance to it but assured them that soon the recession will be a thing of the past. He therefore, urged the people to pray for the Government to succeed.
He enjoined the children to take advantage of the writing materials and the scholarship support provided by their representative at the Assembly to equip themselves for the leadership role of the State and indeed the nation. He further commended the member for considering the plight of the widows and providing them some succour.
