Suspected PDP thugs numbering about 50 attacked journalists who covered the presentation of the running mate at the state secretariat of the party at the instance of the PDP state Vice Chairman, Mallam Mohammed Abdulrahman Balga.
Balga had ordered the thugs to beat up journalists’ right inside the office the Chairman, Alhaji Hassan salawu who was addressing journalists yesterday.
While attacks were, the police attached to the party secretariat and the orderly attached to the flag bearer of PDP could not help the matter as the entire secretariat became rowdy.
The Chairman of Party in the state, who was confused at unruly of his Vice Chairman, Balga, stated that the Party had been managing misdemeanor in the recent times.
Salawu however apologized to the working journalists in the state over the act he described as misnormal in a civilized society.
PDP Thugs
Reacting by the state Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Ali Atabor expressed disappointment as the party official allowed the thugs to have a field day attacking journalists in the office of the Party Chairman.
To this end, he directed all Journalists in the state to henceforth boycott all the activities of PDP and electioneering campaigns of the flag Bearer, Captain, Wada Idris until the party tender unreserved apology to the Journalists.
