The Central Senatorial district of Kogi state has been declared a no go area for the opposition political parties in the state in the forth coming General elections slated for February.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi stated while addressing party faithfuls at the official flag off campaign rally for all PDP candidates in the February elections held at Okene.
The Deputy Governor expressed satisfaction with the turnout of the people at the rally, said the confidence the people of the senatorial district repose on the party would not be misplaced in the years ahead.
Awoniyi described President Goodluck Jonathan as a symbol of unity for the country, said the state has benefited so much under the Leadership of President Jonathan in the last four years, promised that the President would do more for the state if re elected.
Awoniyi disclosed that Capt Idris Wada as governor has been fair in the distribution of gains of democracy to all Senatorial District, assured that the District having shown commitment and dedication to the PDP led administration in the centre and at the state, would reap more benefit in the year’s ahead.
The Deputy Governor assured that the PDP will win convincingly in the forthcoming elections, urged the people of the central district and the state in General not to be deceived, urged them to remain resolute in their following of the PDP.
Awoniyi urged the party faithful to see the general election as one for the common good of the people, urged the people of the Central Senatorial district to vote enmass for continuity that will enable the completion of the good works begun by President Jonathan.
