Kogi Guber: Unveiling Amazing Governorship Aspirant, Hadiza Ibrahim

Hajia Hadiza Ibrahim was born into the family of Alhaji (Prince) Omagbaka Shaibu Iyale, an Ibadan-based business mogul and Hajia (Princess) Awawu Shaibu Nee Adaji from Ankpa on the first of October 1963 in ancient city of Ibadan, the then headquarters of Western Nigeria and currently Oyo State capital. Her birth was a blessing to Nigeria as the country became a republic the moment her birth was announced.

Hajia Hadiza Ibrahim, a successful business woman holds BSc in Mass Communication from a prestigious University of Lagos. Prior to University education, she attended Renscent High School Ibadan and Ilorin High School in early 80s.

In 1980 to 1984, she served as a managing director of S.K Dan Alhaji & Sons Nig Ltd Ilorin. In 1994, she founded a car dealing company, Hadiza Motors Nig. Ltd, one of the few successful car dealers companies in Nigeria. She has been the CEO of the company till date and the company keep growing day by day.

Hajia Hadiza Ibrahim has employed over 5,000 citizens of Kogi and Benue state in her company and some employees went on to establish their own private businesses with the assistance of Hajia Ibrahim.

She has also used her well connection to secure civil service jobs for large numbers of Kogites in NNPC, FIRS, NPF, NAF, NNF NA, NPS, NCS, NIS, NCDS, NPA, FAAN, NEMA, and other government agencies as well privates firms such as Banks, Insurance companies and stock broking firms.

She has been providing helps in cash and foods to suffering workers in Kogi, Benue, Osun, Kwara as a result of non payment of salaries in the last 7 years.

Her foundation, Hadiza Ibrahim Foundation (HIF) has over 500 widows and over 2,000 orphans on a monthly allowance for the past 15 years as well payment of school fees for orphans and children from poor families.

This foundation has enrolled 100 university and polytechnic students on Scholarship in 2017. She has sponsored many Muslims and Christians to Hajj and Jerusalem for worship over the years.

A chieftaincy title holder, the first governor of Kogi State, Col Danladi Zakari appointed her as member of Traditional committee, the committee she remained as member from 1991 to 1999.

As a result of her successes recorded in her businesses, she was appointed as member of ‘How to Move Nigeria Forward’ by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar in 1998. She was also among delegate at 2014 National Confab under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
She is member of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ), Plateau Club Jos and Ibadan Recreation Club.

Her community services includes huge contributions to the Igala House Anyigba during Late Shehu Akus ICDA leadership, renovation of Attah Igala’s Palace in 1999; she laid the foundation and started the the structures before the state government then under ex-Governor Abubakar Audu completed it.

Her exposure was a result of her father high networth relationship. Her father was a friend to Senator Dr Ahmadu Alih, General Hassan Katsina, Chief Akinloye and Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Hajia Hadiza Ibrahim is not new to politics. She contested the 2007 Nigeria Presidential election and lost to late Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar-Adua in PDP primaries. She was a governorship aspirant in 2015. She contested but later stepped down for late Prince Abubakar Audu ahead of August 29th 2015 APC primaries.

Chief (Mrs) Hadiza’s father is from Attah Igala’s royal house as well as Onu Iyale royal house and her mother is from Onu Ankpa royal house.

For her philanthropic gestures, she holds four highly respected chieftaincy titles: Omi-Akele Attah of Igala land, Kogi State; Iyalode of Oro Land, Kwara State; Giwa Mata of Auna Land; Ajibola Oba of Lagos, Lagos State.

She also received award of excellency from Nigerian Union of Journalists.

Hajia is good in cooking and reading and she play golf. She is happily married with children.

Mama Kogi, as she is fondly called by many children she assisted in different ways, speaks fluently in English, French, Arabic, Igala, Yoruba and Huasa languages.
