Eight Ward Chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Idah local government area of Kogi State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

They were received in Idah LGA during the ward to ward campaign of a frontline governorship aspirant of the APC, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, on Sunday.

The defectors hinged their reasons on the failure of the party during the last general elections and their love for Lulu

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, leader of the group, Mallam Yahaya Isah, said they decided to join the APC because they no longer understand the ADC.

“Having screened all the governorship aspirant for the forthcoming election, we feel only Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi can provide good environment for market men and women, small and medium-scale entrepreneurs and artisans and good road network to ease movement.

“We also believe he can provide credit facility for artisans and traders to grow their business.

“We trust that he will also invest in healthcare, education and agriculture,” Yahaya explained.

Receiving the defectors on behalf of the party, Alhaji Lulu Abdullahi, described their action as encouraging.

Lulu Abdullahi, welcomed the defectors, assuring them of equal treatment.

“In APC, we don’t know new comer or old member, we are all one. You have made the best and right decision and we are happy about that.

“I am so grateful to meet this great men to join me in APC to take the state to greater height. I don’t have money to entice people, let’s build this state with courage, and confidence, then all other things shall be made available to us. Money is not the primary reason for politics but love, afterwards money will surface in a lasting manner,” Lulu Abdullahi said.
