Ahead of Supreme Court judgement on the legal tussle over Kogi East senate seat,‎ Kogi Patriotic Front has called on the people of Kogi East to use the opportunity of the sacred month of Ramadan to pray for Senator Atai Aidoko’s victory.
The group made this call in a statement signed by the group’s media officer, Abdulhamid Nuhu.
Abdulhamid expressed worries over the slow pace of development in the zone due to the lingering litigation surrounding the emergence of the senator from the area two years after the inauguration of the 8th senate.
‎He urged political gladiators and contenders from the area to sheath their sword in the spirit of sportsmanship and allow the current senator to attract more development to the area.
“‎Aidoko, as the Senate Committee Chairman on SDGs, can attract a lot of developmental project to Kogi East. Projects to upgrade our schools and hospitals, provision of portable water and electricity will be attracted to the area in this year’s budget.
“Senator Aidoko in the last five months has shown his readiness to develop Kogi East. He has reached agreement with AEDC to upgrade major components of electricity distribution/generation in the area, along with attracting the donation of 2 barges and 300 life jackets to boost economy through efficient waterways in the area.
“The screening and clearance of our minister-designate‎ gave more credit to his presence at the senate in addition to feasibility studies been carried out by NEMA to arrest the incidences of erosion and flooding,” he said.
