The Kogi East Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that he never authored any news reports being circulated by some sections of the conventional press and social media with claims that a governorship aspirant, Hon. Murtala Ajaka, should stop peddling falsehood and test his popularity at the party primaries.

The Zonal Chairman, APC Kogi East, Hon. Mohammed Nasir Alfa, disclosed this in Lokoja while debunking the reports published by media firms.

He condemned those desperately working to rubbish the excellent name and principles that Murtala Ajaka stands for in the mud.

Alfa described the news report as false, malicious, and a figment of the imagination of the sponsors.

According to Hon. Mohammed Nasir Alfa, the enemies have gone ahead with their concocted story to link the hardworking member of the party, Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, to fake news reports using his name to steer up problems between him and Hon. Ajaka.

“Hon. Murtala Ajaka remains a loyal party man. He was irrevocably committed to ensuring that the All Progressives Congress APC candidates emerge victorious at all levels win in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections,’’ he said.

He stated that Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka had contributed immensely to the growth of APC in Kogi state and that people should desist from spreading fake news on social media.

“The hatchet job must be condemned and viewed as the handiwork of those who do not wish APC in Kogi State well but are only interested in their parochial, ambitious, and penchant to grab power at all costs.

“I, at this moment, notify the entire public that this is a calculated attempt by mischievous people to tarnish the good intentions of Alhaji Murtala Ajaka and to undermine his focus on emerging as the candidate of our party in the forthcoming APC primaries elections,” he clarified.
