Kogi Central Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology/Cybercrime, Senator Yakubu Oseni has appointed staff to manage his constituency offices across the five local government areas of the constituency.
The lawmaker while inaugurating the staff yesterday in Abuja said the decision to have constituency staff was borne out of his resolve to make difference in legislative duties and establish presence in the grassroots.
Senator Oseni who argued that real dividends of democracy cannot be provided while keeping the beneficiaries aloof, noted that the facilities will serve everyone in the area regardless of political or religious affiliations.
He said “To bring dividends of democracy that will be of greater benefit to the generaIity of the society, the people have to be adequately involved, not neglecting the place of effective means of communication which is sacrosanct.
“The era of keeping your legislative mandate in Abuja is over with my emergence, as I am poised towards making a difference with your support.
“The constituency offices will serve as veritable avenue to talk to me at anytime, that close working relationship between the people and myself without cognisance to political, clannish and religious affiliations.”
