It’s rather unfortunate for Hon Duro Meseko a supposed elder statesman and leader of note to get himself blinded by his personal inordinate ambition to the extent of throwing caution into the air and in the presence of the Governor Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello throwing jabs at  Comdr Jerry Omodara(rtd) the State Security Adviser; a man who out of his love for developmental politics and affection for his people jettisoned his ambition of contesting for the House of Reps and team up with another fellow, Mr. Wemi Jones, a very successful retired Lagos based banker and businessman, to strengthen the chances of his district to clinch the enviable House of Representatives seat.
It is no longer news that with the soaring chances of Sen. Smart Adeyemi a two time Ijumu-born Senator to clinch the APC  Senatorial ticket of Kogi West in the October primary elections. In view of that, in the last few days, a non formal gentleman agreement has been reached among the relevant stakeholders to zone the House of Reps ticket to Bunu district in the spirit of fairness and good neighbourliness.
Hon Meseko Duro, a known opportunist, jumped out of the blues and in the manner of a hungry goat who is desperately in need of yams to survive, he  started his usual ‘maradonic’ moves without recourse to an existing efforts of Hon Omodara and other Bunu leaders to ensure that Bunu gets the ticket this time around and an existing aspirant – Mr. Wemi Jones who has being touring the constituency and providing sponsorship for party activities since 2015.
Hon Meseko lately appears to be highly unstable and confused! Just recently he ported to Yahaya Bello’s camp from the Audu/Faleke’s camp, he was the spokesman for the group who was responsible for waging  serious and damaging verbal and media wars against Governor Bello and his New Direction Government.
While in the spirit of reconciliation, peace and growth of our loved party, one may excuse his past ugly deed and pardon him for his many ‘sins’ against GYB, the least expected of him is to act in the manner of the biblical prodigal son who went to his father in sobriety, asked for forgiveness and got pardoned.
But sadly, rather than Duro dwelling in the needed sobriety, his recent actions appears to many of us as him being on a mission from the Faleke’s camp to destroy the peace, harmony and progress of the GYB and  APC.
Duro’s sudden recent inordinate interest in the House of Reps, after discovering that same has been zoned to Bunu, even after he has openly in the past canvassed and announced to many people his senatorial ambition explains his high state of confusion and instability.
What Meseko is doing at the moment is of course, what many of us see as a hatchet job to plant instability in the camp of Yahaya Bello and to make his Bunu people lose this golden chance of picking the House of Reps seat. The truth is Duro has us to contend with in this his new role of causing trouble in the midst of GYB’s camp.
One wouldn’t be surprised however as he is notorious for trouble making and causing confusion. This is evident in the ignoble role he played in plunging Kabba/Bunu into serious crises throughout his tenure as member of House of Representatives between 2003-2007. It is on record that Duro invaded most communities with thugs. He can be rightly described as the inventor of thuggery to Kabba/Bunu political landscape. He ported Odua Peoples Congress(OPC) from the west to unleash mayhem on the people he was voted to represent.
Sadly, Meseko, has with the whole of his vigour introduced his known trademark of propaganda and deciets into the struggle for the Reps. He blatantly tells it around that the Governor has anointed him for the  job, even when we all know that such statement is only to gather the undeserving sympathy of the public. The Governor who is well known for his love for loyalty, steadfastness and growth of the party will not anoint the prodigal Duro Meseko against his son Wemi Jones who he knows has being with him from the beginning.
The  questions however are:
1. Where was Duro Meseko when Wemi Jones has being keeping faith with GYB, funding party activities in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu?
2. Is Duro Meseko the only Bunu man that deserves to go the House of Representatives even while he has been offered the opportunity in 2003?
3. Should Duro Meseko be rewarded again with another chance after his notoriety and callousness against his people in 2003-2007?
We want to by this medium warm  Hon Meseko to sheath his sword and stop the further execution of the hatchet job of destroying the peace in GYB camp.
He is also advised to apply a lot of caution as he must not be the Judas(the role he is currently performing) that will make Bunu people lose the Reps seat. A word they say is enough, but only the wise will understand even the unspoken word. Igbe (shit) ti Duro ya si Kabba Bunu ko ti run tan.
