Kogi State Deputy Governor, Dr Edward Onoja, has described those pasting his purported 2023 Governorship posters around Lokoja, the state capital, as mischief makers trying to pull him down.

In a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, Onoja dissociated himself from the posters.

The Deputy Governor said as an ardent believer in Christ, who believes and work through the directions of the holy spirit, he believes it is only God who enthrones.

“What an out-of-fashion way to attempt a pulldown. What a time and date to even think of such. Now I see dumbness in their mischief.

“Chief Edward David Onoja, Kogi’s State Deputy Governor, isn’t that dumb to start with poster placements on any quest. A very inferior output at that. I have said times without numbers: only the big trophy is the focus. And just like I’ve said before, the Lord who enthrones will do it for us.

”Give your attention to what God is doing in your life right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you, deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes,” he posted.

Onoja urged Kogites and Nigerians to ignore any form of posters, either online or physically anywhere.

“My message remains consistent and it’s been there from when God through the trust and love of my boss elevated me to my present office,” he added.

Kogi Reports can confirm that posters bearing Onoja’s name and picture were pasted around Paparanda Square roundabout, GRA and some parts of Lokoja metropolis on new year day. Some young men were seen removing the said posters around Paparanda Square in the early hours of Saturday while the ones pasted on a building between AEDC regional office and Lokoja Club along GRA were still donning walls till yesterday evening.

Onoja has been touted as one of the likely contenders for the Lugard House in 2023 but the Deputy Governor has been taciturn on his purported ambition.
