Irapada lMopamuro is the theme of Julius Olushola Abel’s political ambition, he intended to represent Mopamuro State Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, 2019 – 2023.

Let’s keep the zeal burning, we are almost there.
MY AMBITION
My political ambition is one that I have nursed for a very long time; about eight years ago. I was vexed on the need for Nigerian Youths to take the bull (quest for political leadership) by the horn, that spurred my determination to go into partisan politics immediately after my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). God and destiny had this fulfilled through Rt. Hon. (Prince) M.O. Kolawole when he invited me over to be his Special Assistant on New Media in January, 2017.
THE STRENGTH AND CHALLENGES
The main strength I have is the resolve and determination within me to pave way and make wave.
As expected to happen to any regular Nigerian Youth who has no godfather or whose father has ‘no name’ and financial backing to run for public office in the money gulping Nigeria Political System; I was intimidated, victimised, exhausted etc…
It’s a pity that our political system is still very hostile to youthful aspirations.
THE ISSUES
Despite the financial and godfatherism challenges, I remained resilient and kept pushing, seeing them as surmountable until I was prevailed upon not to forge ahead because of the ‘decision’ of Mopamuro All Progressives Congress (APC)  to leave the Assembly seat in Amuro.
When I got this information, I tried to fight it all I could, but couldn’t because of my age, ‘lack’ of money and godfather – I was really prevailed upon.
I was so down casted and frustrated, I already prepared my withdrawal notice, but I refused to publish it. I feel very remorseful in coming out to the public to give any excuse as I felt it is a disappointment to my generation.
If I should withdraw or step down, won’t I be accused of selling the future of the youths for a morsel? I however withdrew but felt so weak to publish as I don’t want to be misconstrued, so I decided to come public immediately after the Primary Elections.
APOLOGIES
I apologize to Mopamuro Constituents and the entire public for not coming to the public early enough as I am not unaware of what is expected of me, like I said, it is strategic and technical to avoid been misunderstood.
I also apologize in regret for the disappointment caused by the sudden abortion of our collective aspirations and ambition for the House of Assembly race, perhaps it is for a greater goal ahead. I will not get over it soon.
GOOD NEWS
However, the good news is that we have learnt some lessons and taken a giant step closer to our political aspiration in the future. It is different from if we have never fought, we fought and exerted all of our strength. Let me also state that our presence was really felt.
CONCLUSION
To all of our supporters, sympathizers and well wishers, let us not be weary, but remain as a team. We can only be delayed but not for too long and we shall never be denied.
These men will not give us power on a platter of gold, we will have to fight for it.
God will raise men (persons like you and I) to deliver Nigeria Youths from these ‘men’ that refuses to get old. Amen.
ALUTA CONTINUA, VICTORIA ACERTA
– Julius Olushola ABEL
