The national leadership of Isanlu Progressive Union (IPU) has described the demise of the Alafin of Ilafin-Isanlu, His Royal Highness Oba Samuel Ekundayo Ajayi, as a colossal loss.
In a statement signed by the national president, Bashorun Adedayo Kayode, IPU noted that Oba Samuel Ajayi served his people with a great sense of responsibility, passion and competence.
“On behalf of Kabiesi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi, the Agbana of Isanlu Kingdom and Chairman, Yagba East Traditional Council, Isanlu Progressive Union hereby announces with heavy heart the transition to glory of HRH, Oba Samuel Ekundayo Ajayi, Alafin of Ilafin-Isanlu.
“Being part of the various epoch making events and transformation of Isanlu Kingdom before his departure gives us further reassurance that he will occupy a special pride of place in the hereafter.
“His call to glory is certainly a colossal loss, not only to his immediate family but to the people of Ilafin in particular, the entire Isanlu Kingdom and indeed the Isanlu Traditional Council. He would surely be missed by all and sundry,” he said.
Bashorun Adedayo prayed that God Almighty grant the departed monarch eternal rest.
“May God also grant the family he left behind, relations, and community the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. Adieu Kabiesi.”
The final burial announcement will be as communicated later.
