Owerri, Imo State — As Muslims around the world commemorate Eid al-Adha, Ahmed Abdul Mumin the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma delivered a poignant message underscoring humility, sacrifice, and spiritual devotion.

“Live with that reality in your heart. Let it guide your actions. Let it soften your heart. Let it humble your soul,” Mumin shared in his Eid greeting, urging believers to reflect on the deeper meaning of the Islamic holy day.

With hands raised in prayer, he added, “Ya Allah! Accept our du’as,” before extending his warm wishes:

“As we celebrate the spirit of sacrifice, may Allah’s blessings always shine upon you and your loved ones. Aamin.”

But Mumin’s words of faith are matched by powerful actions.

Charity in Action: Honoring Parents Through Service

Just days before his Eid message made waves, Abdul Mumin captured national attention with a viral humanitarian effort in Kogi State.

Through the Yahaya & Ramotu Lare Care Foundation—named in honor of his late parents—he led the distribution of Sallah rams to dozens of families in rural Kogi, ensuring that vulnerable communities could fully partake in the symbolic sacrifices of Eid al-Adha.

Founded in 2022, the foundation reflects the enduring values of Mumin’s father, Alhaji Yahaya, and mother, Hajiya Ramotu Lare. The initiative has since become a beacon of hope across the region, delivering aid through spiritual, educational, and social support programs.

At this year’s Eid distribution, which focused on underprivileged areas in his hometown, recipients praised the ADC’s commitment to his people. Represented at the event, Mumin emphasized the emotional and spiritual ties driving his outreach:

“Eid al-Adha teaches sacrifice, devotion, and community spirit. Through this foundation, I continue the values my late parents embodied—selflessness and compassion. Their memory inspires every effort we make.”

Community leaders and religious scholars welcomed the gesture with deep appreciation. Imam Sulaiman Muhammad of Lokoja LGA remarked:

“Despite his demanding national duties, Alhaji Abdul Mumin remembers his roots and serves his people with humility. This is leadership that inspires confidence and hope.”

The Foundation’s far-reaching impact includes:

Sponsorship of Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages since 2022
Free medical outreach clinics,
Ramadan food relief campaigns,
Scholarships for underprivileged youth, and Empowerment initiatives for widows and single mothers.

As Nigerians celebrate this sacred festival, Ahmed Abdul Mumin’s message—and his deeds—highlight a profound truth: that leadership, when grounded in faith, legacy, and community, can be a powerful force for good.
