Kogi Youth Advocates of Good Governance (KYGG) has called on Governor Yahaya Bello to honour the memory of late ex-Governor Abubakar Audu by ensuring his younger brother, Yahaya Audu, picks APC’s Kogi East Senate ticket.

Speaking to journalists Sunday in Lokoja, the convener of the group, Ajogwu Jerry Ochada noted that the spirit of late Abubakar Audu, who died on the cusp of winning the November 2015 gubernatorial election, would be appeased when his brother, Yahaya Audu is supported to represent Kogi East in the Senate in the coming election.

Ochada said the move will placate the families and political associates of late Prince Abubakar Audu.

He stated that the ideology of the group is to preach justice, fairness and equity and this necessitated their call as it is the only antidote to the lingering political crisis rocking the state.

Ochada stated that the association arose from the  stakeholders meeting held in Abuja with the resolution to prevail on Abubakar Audu’s family to allow their son, Alhaji Yahaya Audu to show interest in the senatorial race.

He added that Alhaji Yahaya Audu, a seasoned administrator and a successful  businessman with impeccable record  of service to humanity, will be an asset to the people of Kogi East and the state as he will deploy his experience for good representation of the people.

According to him, the best way the state government and the APC can immortalise the political legacies of Prince Abubakar Audu is to ensure that his junior brother, Yahaya Audu is assisted to contest and win the  forthcoming senatorial election.

The group pledged to lead the crusade to the Attah Igala, HRM Micheal Ameh Oboni and the Orego Attah to plead with them to work for the younger Audu to become the next senator for Kogi East zone.

“We enjoin youths and elders to support the emergence of this tested and trusted leader for the senatorial election without sentiment. His experience, exposure in business, political connections and his love for the people are his qualities that will enthrone uncommon representation for the Kogi East.

“Our resolve to solicit for his interest to run for Senate is in line with the objectives of KYGG which has been championing equality, fairness and justice for all.

“It is on this avowed commitment that we call on Kogi State government, APC and leaders in Kogi East to support him as a means to resolve political logjam rocking the state occasioned by the sudden death of Prince Abubakar  Audu,” he solicited.
