A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-legislator in Kogi State, Hon. Alhassan Salisu Adakeke, has commended Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on the Governor’s recommendation of Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu to President Bola Tinubu as a minister designate representing Kogi State.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday, Hon. Adakeke, said Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has made ‘a wise choice’ of Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, a young politician with rising political profile in the state.
Shaibu Audu, is son of the late political patriarch of the Igala nation, and former Governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, who died in 2015 while cruising to victory in the historic 2015 Governorship election in Kogi State.
“Governor Bello’s recommendation and subsequent appointment of prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu has demonstrated to the world that Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is a unifier and pacifier with an unparalleled knowledge of the aspiration of Kogi state people.
“The appointment of Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu is no doubt a kind appreciation of the legacies of his departed father.
“I have no doubt in my mind that Governor Bello has demonstrated his love and kindness to the of people of Kogi East Senatorial Zone particularly the Audu family and followers across the state.
“Iam confident that this single act of political magnanimity, will be reciprocated by good people of Kogi East at the polls,” Adakeke said.
Adakeke describes Shaibu Audu as a sound, experienced and resourceful financial analyst with expertise in finance and corporate governance with stints in reputable international financial institutions where he had served with unblemished record of excellence in Nigeria and abroad.
The former majority leader of Kogi State House of Assembly urged Shaibu Audu to harness the rich political values of prince Abubakar Audu as well as embrace political dynasty of late Audu to support and strengthen the ongoing struggle to install Ododo in office by popular mandate.
He urged Governor Bello to continue to extend his hands of friendship, goodwill and brotherly support and guidance to Shaibu Audu in order to propel him towards achieving maximum results for the state and Nigeria as a Minister of the federal Republic.
He thanked President Bola Tinubu for the confidence he had reposed in Shaibu Audu to serve Nigeria and Kogi State, with assurances of greater political support to the Tinubu Presidency.
