A socio-political group, Advocates for Positive Change popularly called Kogi Power Shift (KPS) or Kogi Youth Power Shift (KYPS), has applauded Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello for his noteworthy achievements in the first 100 days in office.
The group, in a congratulatory message to the Governor which was made available to newsmen on Friday and signed by its State Coordinator, Prince Suleiman Adinoyi, said Governor Bello, just like President Muhammadu Buhari, has emulated the tradition of responsibility, responsiveness and focused administration in setting the pace for delivering on his campaign affirmations and democratic dividends to the people of Kogi State.
“Ever since he assumed office, Governor Bello has left no one in doubt about his capability and competence as a tested and trusted administrator and technocrat of repute in discharging his constitutional responsibility, admiringly to the approbation of the good people of Kogi State who are delighted that they made the right choice at the polls on the 21st November, 2015 to December 5th, 2016, accompanied with God’s intervention”, the group said.
Listing some of the governor’s landmark achievements, KPS said the governor has succeeded in restructuring and repositioning the state’s civil service by streamlining some ministries, departments and agencies, ensuring financial transparency and accountability through plausible means.
Going further, the group said, “we are quite aware of how the Governor stuck to his promises by putting smiles on the faces of state and local government employees within his 57 days, rehabilitation of roads in Lokoja, and attraction of foreign body to key into the upgrade of our Agriculture and Mineral resources. These are commendable steps taken by a responsible government and a radical departure from our history of shabby treatment.”
“It is common knowledge that the amiable governor also touched the health sector for good within your 100 days, by commissioning health equipment and rehabilitation of Ijumu General Hospital (in Ijumu Local Government) through the Office of the First Lady, payment of bills during his visitations to Lokoja Medical Centre, plus ordering the recruitment of medical personnel to improve service delivery.
“We are advocates for positive change, we say the truth albeit it’s bitter, we forbid prejudice. Whilst we beseech the governor to call on the aggrieved ones and put smiles on their faces, for as long he remain the governor of Kogi state, he remain the number one citizen that everyone must honour, we also beg that His Excellency step into the implementation of the power Shift Goal (Power Shift/Rotation Bill) before it is late.
“We pray that God who has kept you thus far shall continue to shower on you, good health, longer live, strength and more wisdom as you continue to pilot the affairs of the state to a greater height.
