Government to Embark on Installation and Rehabilitation of Street Lights in Lokoja Before December 2011

Kogi State government is set to embark on the installation and rehabilitation of street lights along the major roads in the state capital before December 2011.

The disclosure was made by the commissioner for information, Dr. Tom Ohikere at the end of an emergency State Executive Council Meeting held in Lokoja.

Some of the roads earmarked for the street light rehabilitation project include;

  • International Market-Obasanjo Square,
  • Adankolo Junction-Ganaja Junction,
  • Ganaja Junction-Lokongoma Phase II,
  • Zone 8 Junction-Otokiti Housing Estate,
  • Federal Medical Centre-Government House,
  • NTA Roundabout-Government House, among others.

The over N54million project awarded to Elleson Nigeria Limited, is to be completed in four weeks.

In the same manner, Zerock Construction Company handling the over N2billion rehabilitation and dualization of Ganaja Junction-Ganaja Village road network has also been awarded the contract for the installation of street lights along the same route at a contract sum of over N167million and a completion period of four weeks.
