Mr. Muktar Bello has urged the people of Kogi state to give Governor Yahaya Bello a second chance.
He declared his support for Gov. Bello’s re-election bid, describing it as encouraging and soul lifting.
According to Muktar, popularly known as Senator, a robust political strategy that will lead to a successful campaign for the Gov Bello to get re-elected has already been set in motion.
He noted that Gov. Bello’s decision to seek a re-election is a welcome development and the decision is to lay concrete foundation for the political growth of the state.
He stated that himself and others are standing on the performance of the governor in the past three years and not just a precedence of two terms.
Mukhtar Senator pointed out that the circumstances surrounding how Gov. Bello came into office must be taken into consideration when assessing his performance in office.
He explained that the state in the last three years witnessed restoration of peace and security, massive facelift of social infrastructure as well as improved health sector and welfare package for workers and the citizenry as a whole.
Mr Muktar appealed to opposition parties in the state to focus their campaigns on developmental issues and not on propaganda. He also appealed to people of Kogi State to appreciate the governor’s declaration of intent to run again and be strong in their conviction that he will continue to run an open and transparent government if given a second chance.
“We owe ourselves the duty to ensure that governor Bello continues beyond 2019 so that he could consolidate on the tremendous achievements so far recorded,” he said.
