Excited that all academic programmes offered by the Kogi State Polytechnic have been duly accredited, the Rector, Isah Muhammed, has commended the State Governor, Captain Idris Wada for supporting the institution to realise such a feat.

Speaking in an exclusive chat, Mallam Isah said the success story of the institution in all spheres cannot be recounted without a mention of the governor’s name.

The rector lauded the prompt responses of the governor to the needs of the school, describing his interest in the institution, in particular and the education sector in general, as unequalled.

He remarked that whatever peace that is being enjoyed in the school is traceable to the governor’s gesture of ensuring a favourable atmosphere created for both teaching and learning to take place.

The rector commended him for the provision of two hostel edifices to ease accommodation challenges in the school as well as the extension of water supply to the institution.

He however, lamented that in spite of the effort in the area of hostel accommodation, no fewer than 50 percent of the students still live off-campus; a situation, he said, makes it difficult to keep a tap on all students.

He expressed delight that almost all the major roads in the school have been fixed, a feat; he commended the governor for. He further stated that the gesture has greatly enhanced the beauty of the institution.

Mallam Isah who lauded the governor for helping to reduce the water problem on the campus, expressed hope that when the on-going N10 million water project initiated by the present management of the institution, is completed, the school would have fully met its water requirement.

The rector, who however, bemoaned the erratic power situation on the campus, stressed that stable power in the institution is non-negotiable as the school requires power in most of its operations.

On funding, he commended the governor for not starving the institution of funds, pointing out that despite the precariousness of the state’s economy, the institution has continued to get its fair share from government to stay afloat.
