Former Kogi Governor Dies at 77

A former Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is dead.

He died in the early hours of Sunday morning in the United Kingdom at the age of 77 Years after a brief illness.

A statement issued by the media aide to the late former governor, Abubakar Yusuf, confirmed the unfortunate development.

Ibrahim Idris, who holds the Jakadan Sokoto title, ruled Kogi state for nine years between 2003-2012.

A philanthropist, community and political leader, the former governor was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) board of trustees before his death.

His remains will be conveyed to Icheke, his ancestral home in Omala local government of Kogi state, for burial.

Idris is survived by his wife, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Idris and many children
