Excessive Heat Stalls Kogi Assembly Sittings

For the the second time in one week,  lawmakers in the Kogi state house of Assembly has failed to hold it normal sitting due excessive heat in the chamber occasioned by lack of power supply.

The 6th assembly rely mainly on alternative source of energy to power its complex due to epileptic power supply in the state capital.

The majority leader, Prince Mathew Kolawole, who moved for an adjournment earlier on Wednesday could not hide his feeling on the stuffy nature of the chamber.

It was gathered that the generator plant has been faulty as efforts to fix it failed to yield result.

This  prompted the Speaker, Rt. Honourable Ahmed imam to rule on the suspension of three motions which was scheduled for deliberation on Wednesday.

The Assembly resolved to reconvened on Thursday with the expectation that the power outage leading to excessive heat which had previously stalled their sittings will be fixed before the next legislative day.
