Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Bello, has commended Governor Yahaya Bello for signing the Kogi State House of Assembly Commission Law 2018.
In a statement personally signed by the former lawmaker, he maintained that the signing of the bill by the Governor has yet opened another landmark achievement in the quest to add value towards the Democratic development Kogi State.
Hon Bello who is also a member of the Governing Board, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), recalled that various attempts made in the past to make the Bill a reality was always frustrated by refusal of the Executive to give assent on each occasion.
“That after several failed attempts by his predecessors to give assent to this very important legislative bill, I am particularly happy to note that he has become the first Executive Governor in Kogi State to have effectively broken this ceiling, by making this legislative journey a reality.
“This commendable act remain an indelible mark in our legislative life.
“It is my hope that competent and experience hands will be appointed by the Governor into the commission in order to fully complement the over all working of the Kogi State House of Assembly,” he said.
He called on the legislative arm to complement this gesture by initiating and passing bills and motions that will contribute to the growth and development of the state.
