Ejule: Rep Member Empower Constituents With Cash, Tools

The member representing Idah Federal constituency, Hon David Idris Zacharias on Saturday distributed empowerment materials to constituents at Ejule in Ofu local government area of Kogi State.

Items distributed includes tricycles, motorcycles, industrial sewing machine, barbing salon kits, fish processing equipment, grinding machines, sewing machines, nylon sealing machine, generators, refrigerators and start up cash for some petty businesses.

Speaking with journalists at the event, the lawmaker said the gesture was in fulfilment of his campaign promises made to his constituents.

He said more will come as interventions come up from time to time and urged those yet to benefit to be patient with him.

He said he took the bold steps because those who represented the constituency without anything serious to show for have previously neglected his constituents.

“The items distributed are not with my money, government provided them and I have to make sure that it gets to my people.

“All I need from the beneficiaries is to put into proper us the items received and see that they empower other people through their businesses. This is the aim of the project and I urge them to be prudent,” he said.

Earlier at the even, APC zonal chairman, Ahmed Attah, local government party chairmen and administrators from the local governments in the consistency, commended the bold steps taken by Zacharias while they pledged their support.

Ahmed particularly appreciated Zacharias and urged him to sustain the tempo. He noted that the best is yet to come, just as he said his support for him remains firm.

Prince Mustapha Audu, son of former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, eulogised Zacharias and supported the efforts of the lawmaker with scholarship slots.

Also speaker, representatives of the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi presented patrol van to the community at the occasion to help ease congestion on the Ochadamu-Ejule road.

A letter of appreciation was also received from the palace of the Achadu Attah of Igala in Idah where solar powered streetlight was provided and urged him to sustain the tempo.
