Ahead of the Eid-kabir celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 3800 security personnel to Kogi State to avert any breakdown of law and order during this festive period.
Kogi State Commandant of NSCDC, Everestus Obiyo disclosed this during an interview with newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday.
Obiyo also directed heads of departments and units, area commanders and divisional officers across the state to provide security at all religious premises.
The commandant noted that the Federal, state and local government’s critical assets and installations must be secured before, during and after the Eid-kabir celebration in Kogi state.
“I am using this medium to warn any criminally minded individuals to desist from any act capable of bridging the peace of the state. The command will not hesitate to deal with trouble makers within the ambit of the law.
“Parents should caution their wards and not allow them to constitutes nuisance to the society. The command in collaboration with other sister agencies will not fold its arms and allow some disgruntled elements cause havoc and deprive the citizens the opportunity to enjoy the peace which Eid-kabir celebration symbolize,” Obiyo warned.
