The 2001 Set of Biraidu Community Secondary School Old Boys Association has endorsed the candidacy of Hon. Muhammed Arome Yahaya, who is seeking the ticket to contest for the House of Representatives seat to represent Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The association appealed to the leadership of the party to give favourable consideration to his aspiration, stressing that his political background, grassroots acceptance, and longstanding relationship with the people have continued to place him ahead as a preferred choice among constituents.
The group maintained that, given the personality, political antecedents, and public goodwill enjoyed by Hon. Arome, the people of Dekina/Bassa are fully prepared to stand with him throughout the political process. They noted that his popularity across communities remains evident in the growing support for his aspiration both within and outside the constituency.

According to the association, Hon. Arome distinguished himself during his time as Secretary of Dekina Local Government Area by maintaining close ties with the grassroots and ensuring that ordinary people were carried along in governance. They said his administrative experience and accessibility to the people have continued to earn him admiration across political divides.
The classmates further argued that the APC leadership should look beyond internal consensus arrangements and consider granting Hon. Arome an express ticket for the Green Chamber race in view of what they described as his proven loyalty to the party, political capacity, and widespread acceptability among party members and constituents alike.
They also observed that the current political climate in Dekina/Bassa demands a candidate with practical experience, people-oriented leadership, and a deep understanding of the needs of the constituency, qualities they believe Hon. Arome has consistently demonstrated over the years through both public service and personal interventions.
The endorsement and appeal were made during a critical meeting held in Abuja on Sunday as part of the association’s quarterly reunion gathering.

Speaking on behalf of the set, the Deputy Coordinator of the association, Mallam Senusi Sanni, described Hon. Arome as a development-driven personality and a compassionate philanthropist whose concern for people dates back to their days in secondary school.
“Hon. Muhammed Arome Yahaya has always shown uncommon concern for people around him. Even during our secondary school days, he was known for supporting others and standing for fairness and unity. Today, those same qualities have remained visible in his public life and political journey,” he said.
Mallam Sanni who was the set’s Deputy Headboy, emphasized the need for competent and experienced individuals to represent Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, insisting that Hon. Arome possesses the required leadership capacity and track record.
“At this stage of our constituency’s political development, what is needed is competence, accessibility, and proven commitment to the people. Hon. Arome has shown these qualities repeatedly through his service, his relationship with the grassroots, and his dedication to community development. We strongly believe he is well prepared for the Green Chamber,” he added.
Mallam Sanni appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to provide a fair and level playing ground for all aspirants contesting for the party’s ticket, while making a special appeal for the consideration of Hon. Muhammed Arome Yahaya’s candidacy.
“We are appealing to the leadership of the APC, to ensure fairness, openness, and equal opportunity for every aspirant. At the same time, we passionately urge the party leadership to give special consideration to Hon. Muhammed Arome Yahaya because of his capacity, loyalty, and the confidence the grassroots have in him,” he stated.
He further maintained that the Not Too Young To Run law was enacted to encourage greater participation of young Nigerians in leadership and governance, stressing that the spirit behind the legislation should now be practically demonstrated through the emergence of credible and responsible young leaders.
“The Not Too Young To Run law was not passed merely for ceremonial purposes. It was meant to open the political space for capable young Nigerians with character, competence, and compassion for the people. Hon. Arome represents that generation of responsible young leaders, and this is the right time to give him the opportunity to fly the party’s flag for the House of Representatives election,” he added.
The association also called on key leaders and stakeholders within the ruling party to support the aspiration of Hon. Arome in the overall interest of political inclusion, youth participation, and effective representation for the people of Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency.
They specifically appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the National Chairman of the APC, and other influential stakeholders within the party structure to support the aspiration of Hon. Arome, whom they described as a committed party man with a humane disposition and strong connection to the grassroots.
According to the group, supporting younger and people-oriented leaders with tested public service experience would not only strengthen internal democracy within the party but would also inspire confidence among young Nigerians who are seeking greater opportunities to contribute meaningfully to governance and national development.
