The Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril has advised Nigerians to put the love of the country above personal interests.
Citing the example of Prophet Ibrahim who was willing to sacrifice his son, Buba said only sacrifice would make the “Nigeria of our dreams” possible.
The deputy majority leader said this in a Sallah message to felicitate with Muslim faithfuls on the celebration of Edil-Adha.
He admonished Muslims to imbibe Prophet Ibraheem’s ideals and put Nigeria first.
“Let us imbibe Ibraheem’s ideals and put Nigeria first in all we do. I salute the Muslim Ummah this Sallah. Happy Eid-El-Kabir,” he said
He noted that without self-sacrifice, we will never see the Nigeria of our dreams and will always think ‘what about me’ instead of ‘what about Nigeria’.
Buba thanked the people of his constituency in particular and Nigerians in general for their prayers.
“I want to us this auspicious occasion to thanked all Nigerians, particularly the people of Lokoja/ Kogi Federal constituency, for their fervent players, Insha Allah in no distance future, I will join them to continue with the assignment bestowed on me by the people of Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency,” he said.
