Council Poll: I’ll Make Positive Impact in Lives of Women in Okene LG – Bilikisu Aliyu

Vice chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the December 12 Kogi council elections in Okene local government, Bilikisu Aliyu as pledged to use the opportunity offered her to impact on the lives of women in the area.

Speaking to newsmen in Lokoja after her successful clearance by the party leadership, Aliyu expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for counting her worthy to be considered as running mate to Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad.

She further commended the Governor for taking an unprecedented political decision of including large number of women in the forthcoming council election.

“The Governor has done his part as a patriotic leader, brother and son. It is our turn to make him proud. I promise to serve my people to the best of my capacity.

“I enjoin all the goodwill people of Kogi Central and Kogi State at large to continue to pray and support our distinguished leader, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello as he carry on with the leadership of our dear state. 

“A new dawn is here, let’s make the Governor proud by proving to him that one can never go wrong with inclusion of women in governance,” she said. 

The state chairman of APC, Hon. Abdulahi Bello cleared Aliyu for the council contest after thorough verification of her credentials.

Aliyu was accompanied by the chairmanship candidate of the party in Okene LGA, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad and supporters to the state APC secretariat in Lokoja.
