Barely two weeks after the successful completion of a 3 day medical outreach in Lokoja and Koton Karfe, the member representing Lokoja/ Kogi Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Umar Buba Jibril has announced a new date for the second phase of the outreach.
In a statement by his Personal Assistant, Mr Moses Adoga Friday, the second phase of the medical outreach is scheduled to commence on Thursday 9th of March 2017 and will end on Saturday the 11th of March 2017.
The second phase became necessary due to popular demand from his people who were not among the over three thousand (3000) persons treated of all kinds of diseases in the first phase.
According to the statement, the medical personal will start attending to patients from 8am to 5pm daily at the children Amusement park in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
The first phase of the outreach which took place simultaneously at Lokoja and Koto karfe recorded huge success as the people of the area were treated of all kinds diseases while a good number of them had successful surgery.
The medical outreach came as a big relief to the people of the area as government hospitals in Kogi state are under luck and key as a result of the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Medical Association, Kogi state chapter.
Honourable Buba Jibril who is also the Deputy Majority leader in the house of Representatives has been busy lately attending to the needs of his constituents. He recently concluded the training and empowerment of 100 woman in his constituency and gave them grants to start up business. He is also set to commission an ultramodern fish market which he built in Lokoja. Work has also reached an advance stage at the hospital he is building for the people of Koto karfe.
