As follow up on my visitation to Community Secondary School Ibeke, Kuroko and for the obvious fact that basic education is a fundamental right of every child, I find it as a matter of urgency to bring to the notice of the New Direction government of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello the dilapidated state of community secondary school, Ibeke Kuroko.
A healthy learning environment in schools is only possible when students and teachers are provided with adequate facilities, not only related to teaching and learning, but also safe and sound infrastructure. There is growing evidence from across the globe that the condition of school infrastructure has a strong impact on learning outcome of students.
The present condition of the school has become worrisome. The school has been damaged to the extent that the students sit on bare floor and under trees to take classes, the roofs are collapsing and the buildings are partially or critically damaged. The present administration with her focus on education will not allow any student to continue to study in such environment. Rehabilitation of this school is long overdue as student get drenched whenever it rains and this is not good for a state like ours.
Worried by the condition of the students and by the pressing need to restore dignity to the school, I am appealing to the ever conscious administration of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to ensure that the school is put in habitable condition as soon as possible, to enhance conducive learning and avert imminent danger.
I am convinced that as a responsive and listening government, the Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello lead administration will look into this request and will take immediate steps to fix the school.
