The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Duro Meseko has described the defection of a former Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, to the ruling party as a “bold step”.
Meseko was on ground at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja to welcome Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and Awoniyi as he was presented to the National Chairman of APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje as a new decampee to the party on Tuesday.
In an interactive session with newsmen, Hon. Duro Meseko expressed delight at Arch. Yomi Awoniyi for the bold step he took in joining the APC from the PDP.
The APC Deputy National Publicity Scribe asserted that the gale of defection from other political parties in Kogi State to the APC is a pointer to the outcome of the 11th November, 2023 Governorship election and assured Arch. Yomi Awoniyi of total inclusiveness of his supporters as all members of the party will be accommodated.
He eulogized the political sagacity of Governor Bello that has paved way for the enhanced fortunes of the party in the state as he pointed out that more political heavyweights from the opposition parties will still join the APC.
