Another illegal cement factory was, on Tuesday, uncovered  in Aku village, on Abuja-Lokoja-Okene highway, Kogi State, barely one week after an illegal factory was uncovered at Zango village by the state police command.

The factory, located 600 metres from the highway, was being used to repackage adulterated cement.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Musa Katsina, who conducted newsmen round the factory, said the discovery was made by his crack team of  ambush squad.

Katsina disclosed that the illegal factory was being operated by a syndicate who, he said, usually adulterated Dangote Cement after buying in large quantities and would then re-bagged the product for unsuspecting members of the public.

The two arrested suspects, he said, were helping the police in their interrorgation.

One of the suspects, Rasheed Wasiu, who said he was recruited into the business by one Baba Ayo, said  he was looking for job to enable him to survive, before he was introduced to the business.

Another suspect, Waheed Adebayo, said he was introduced into the business after he left secondary school by his friend.

The duo said they were being paid N30 per bag, while they usually had between 40 and 50 bags per day.
