Alede Olu-Adde Banquet initiative of Ekinrin Adde community in Ijumu local government of Kogi state has honoured its girl-child prodigy, Julianah Funke Molu-Omofaiye, who graduated from the Kogi State University, Anyigba with First- Class honours.
At the inaugural edition of Alede Olu-Adde Banquet (AOB) initiative which held in Ekinrin-Adde community on Sunday December 26, 2021, Molu-Omofaiye was unveiled and inducted as the pioneer Alede Olu-Adde Ambassador for Excellence.
She was also presented with a specially designed golden plaque as an inspirational incentive for continued outstanding successes and glorious attainments and a fifty thousand Naira cash gift by the organizers of the AOB Initiative.
Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, also offered the first class graduate full scholarship for her Masters Degree.
Akinwumi, a globally acclaimed professor of history and an illustrious son of the community, in his brief remarks of commendation at the award presentation, expressed joy at the glorious attainment of the young lady, and noted that by the feat she achieved, she has not only done herself proud, but that she has become a pride to the Ekinrin-Adde community.
He called on all well-meaning sons and daughters of Ekinrin-Adde to rally support for her to continue to achieve greatness and further unleash her manifest potentials to become a global icon that she is capable of becoming in no distant future with the right encouragement.
Initiator of the Alede Olu-Adde Banquet, His Royal Majesty, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu ACA (Ahe-Maworo1), formally declared the banquet an annual event in the socio-development calendar of Ekinrin Adde community.
Other notable highpoints of the royal banquet event included a processional homages to the Crown by branches of EACDA (Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ilorin, Lokoja, Kabba, etc) present at the occasion; groups, clubs and associations, as well as representatives of some ethnic nationalities resident in the community.
Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu raised the palace project purse with a seed fund of N250,000, towards the speedy completion of the on-going ultra-modern Olu-Adde Palace.
The monarch expressed optimism that the palace project will be completed before the 2nd Edition of the Banquet.
According to the Secretary, Alede Olu-Adde Banquet Initiative board of trustees, Ambassador Rufus Aiyengba, the monarch’s seed fund attracted immediate response as sons and daughters of the community present, and those following online, raised the donations to N2.5million.
The event had in attendance notable and illustrious sons and daughters of the community such as Gen. J.O.S Oshanupin (Retd.) former GOC, 3rd Armored Brigade and Commander, Guards Brigade; Commander LMO Fabiyi (Retd.); Chief Davies Tunde Olutekunbi, a retired NDLEA State Director; Dr. Lanre Kazeem and his wife, Barrister Funmi Kazeem.
Others present include Olori Bridget Fehintola Idowu; the Alaa of Adde, High Chief Abiodun Davies; the Alaa of Ekinrin, High Chief Kolade Otitoju; the Board of Trustees of Alede Olu-Adde Banquet Initiative led by its Director-General, Elder Deinde Toyin Komolafe.
