His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju, Egbo Lona, the Akinrin of Ekinrinland, has expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty and the Federal Government following the successful rescue of students and teachers who were abducted 56 days ago in the Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Reacting to the development, the monarch opened his address with a note of spiritual thanksgiving, declaring, “Ope ye Baba” (Praise be to the Father), as he celebrated the safe return of the victims to their families.
Oba Otitoju extended his highest commendation to the Nigerian Armed Forces and allied security operatives for what he described as a decisive and heroic intervention. Speaking on the bravery of the troops involved in the operation, the monarch said the soldiers deserve prayers and commendation for their courage, selfless commitment, professionalism, and willingness to risk their lives in service to the nation.

The traditional ruler described the successful rescue as a beacon of hope for the country’s security architecture and a clear warning to criminal elements operating within Nigeria. Conveying what he called the collective appreciation of the people, he said Nigerians are grateful for the accomplishment, adding that the days of kidnappers are numbered and that citizens deserve peace and freedom.
Oba Otitoju rounded off his address by commending the current administration for its commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens, offering a final note of appreciation in Yoruba: “E se pupo” (Thank you very much).
His Royal Majesty said he would continue to pray for the enduring peace, unity, and security of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
