Aguma of Bassa Sues For Peace in Kogi State

The Aguma of Bassa, Chief William Jimba Keke has stressed the need for peaceful co-existence among various ethnic groups in Kogi State.

The royal father gave the charge recently at his palace in Oguma when Igala community in Bassa Local Government Area paid him a courtesy visit.

He noted that Igala community in Bassa land has always been living harmoniously alongside other ethnic groups in the area.

The royal father described the Igala in Bassa as hard-working, peace-loving, and has contributed greatly to the socio-economic and political development of Bassa kingdom.

He added that, the visit by the Igala community was the first since he assumed office as the Aguma of Bassa, urging them to always defend the unity and peace of the country where-ever they find themselves.

Earlier, the Onu Igala in the area, Chief James Akowe Edibo revealed that they were in the palace to convoy the solidarity and goodwill of Igala in the local government area on his installation and his recent presentation of staff of office by the state Governor, Capt. Idris Wada.

Chief Edibo, pledged the commitment of all Igala people in the area to contribute to the success of his reign, and prayed for the continued peace and development of Bassaland and Kogi State in general.
