Kogi To Evict Illegal Occupants of Flood Estate

Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello yesterday said all illegal occupants of the 235 housing units constructed for victims of the 2012 flood disasters would be evicted to enable genuine victims occupy them.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Strategy, Mallam Abdulkarim Abdulmalik said this in Lokoja while addressing journalist ahead of the state’s 25th year anniversary which comes up today.

He said government had received complaints over the activities of illegal occupants that have ‘hijacked’ the estate and would ensure such people don’t continue to occupy the accommodations at the detriment of those the houses were meant for.
