The All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for Kogi Central senatorial district, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has assured people of district of a constructive engagement that would enable them harness there full potentials using technology if elected.
The APC flagbearer gave the assurance while addressing participants at TEDxOkene.
The APC flagbearer who was ably represented by Prof. Solomon Avidime, Chairman, Ohere Political Vanguard Campaign Support Organisation, expressed gladness that with the establishment of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, the difficulty in securing admissions by indigenes of the area to study Medicine and Engineering in ABU and other Universities was long over.
Engr. Ohere described the establishment of the Referral Hospital, Okene, a world class health institution as another development that would create job opportunities, attract medical tourists and make Okene and the Central Senatorial District a hub of economic activities.
Engr Ohere who was full of praises for the establishment of the Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara and the Referral Hospital in Okene, that are all world class, said with the opportunities offered by the institutions, all that is required from young people from the area is the Can- Do- Spirit, pointing out that with such a spirit they can achieve there dreams and potentials.
The APC Flagbearer who was full of praises for the youths of the Central Senatorial District, lauded them for the prevailing peace that is now existing in the area, urged them to remain focus, hopeful, contempted, assured that greatness lies ahead for them if they collectively work together.
Engr. Ohere described the Youths of the Central Senatorial District as people who over time have displayed the can do spirit, urged them to see education as a legacy that can make them relevant to the society, pointing out that it was the legacy of education bequeathed to him and other by there parents in time past, as difficult as it was then, that made them relevant to there world, urged the Youths to take advantage of the efforts of the present administration to acquire education and skills.
Engr. Ohere promised to create the needed platform if elected that would help the youths engage with modern technology in there fields of endeavors, expressed happiness that the area has come out of the transition period, from time of crisis, when peace took a flight from the area, with communities and brothers up against themselves as long gone to a period of peace.
Engr. Ohere, who thanked God for the peace that has returned and is witnessed in the area, urged the youths to take education and acquiring of skills with the seriousness it deserves for the area to make the desired meaningful development.
The APC Flagbearer disclosed that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of violence, commended TEDx Okene for creating a platform for meaningful engagement for youths of the area, assured of his unalloyed support and commitment to assisting them realize there full potentials.
