The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman will continue to be in the good book of many individuals, groups and organizations for his commitment and continuous zeal in touching lives and making meaningful impacts.

It was in recognition of his usual ways of touching lives positively and exerting leadership sagacity that the Polytechnic’s School of Art, Design and Printing (SADP) conferred on him a Meritorious Service Award, and an Art Work to commend him and spur him to do more.

The Dean, School of Art, Design and Printing (SADP), Mr. Adalumo Adebola who led the members of staff of the School to the Rector’s office on Wednesday 29th June, 2022 said the award was in recognition of the Rector’s support and encouragement to the School which resulted in its successful accreditation exercise.

The Dean also commended Dr. Usman’s doggedness and resourcefulness which are clear indications of his leadership quality.

Mr. Adebola however reassured the Rector and the Management of the Polytechnic that the School would continue to be more creative and industrious to further place the institution on a higher pedestal.

In his response, the Rector,  Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman  expressed sincere appreciation for the award and the Art Work, just as he commended them for their show of commitment, capacity and dedication in the discharge of their duties, especially during the just concluded accreditation.

He stressed that since Polytechnic Education is practical and technological in nature, the School of Art, Design and Printing had been  identified as one of the Schools that lived up to expectations.

Dr. Usman therefore charged the SADP which he holds dearly to take ownership of the institution with more ideas and innovations just as he promised to always give them needed and prompt support to achieve that.

He therefore used the opportunity to admonish the members of staff of SADP to continue to accord the Dean the needed support to succeed.

Other officers from SADP on the Dean’s entourage were Mr. Charles Williams Oluwatoyin, Head of Industrial Design; Mr. Ibrahim Umoru, Head of Fine Arts Department; and Mr. Dele Alonge, a former Dean of the School of Art, Design and Printing, amongst others.
