The Association of Adavi Joint Communities has commended the Executive Chairman of the local government council, Hon. Joseph Omuya for making governance, security of lives, properties, and the social welfare of the people his top priority.
The delegation of the association made up of 158 communities in Adavi local government area of Kogi state made this known when they visited the council chairman on Wednesday.
The joint communities chairman, Alhaji Oseni Advusu said the council chairman has performed beyond their expectations.
“Our Chairman, as you can see, it is impossible to bring all the people residing in Adavi here but seeing this delegation alone is like seeing every single soul in the local government. The communities have unanimously agreed to come and appreciate you for the good works you have been doing.
“We want to reassure you of our support and cooperation because that is the only way the people of Adavi can continue to enjoy relative peace. Since the creation of Adavi LG, this is the first administration that recognized and established a smooth relationship with community leaders. We use this medium to thank his Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for bringing you in to pilot the affairs of the local government. Yes, we can categorically say this is Adavi of our dreams”, he said.
Responding, Hon. Joseph Omuya appreciated the delegation and noted that the visit means a lot to him.
“This visit is a positive feedback to me from my people, and like I have said long ago, I have not come to lead but to serve the people of Adavi and by this I will always put in my best.
“The community leaders have a big role to play and I expect you all to involve yourself in decision making.
Let me seize this opportunity to urge you all to talk to and sensitize every person in your jurisdiction to come out and enroll in the continuous voters registration exercise, not for the interest of the ruling party or any other parties in Adavi, but the progress and development of the society.
“I want to reassure the people of Adavi through this delegation that, the present administration of his Excellency, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello who will soon be addressed as the President of this great nation come 2023. The administration at the grassroots, under my own watch, will never place any interest above that of Adavi people. Always give your support to the government in every little way, and we promise you that at the end, our government will be rated the best amongst others. Thank you all for entrusting your mandate with us and also checking on us to give positive feedback, we are forever grateful,” the chairman said.
